Cross Stitch With Ella + Kat: Finding Time For Me

Ella + KatA couple of weeks ago I was lucky enough to be asked to try out a cross stitch kit from the brilliant Sarah at Ella + Kat. I’ve been admiring Ella + Kat’s wickedly modern patterns for ages, and although they didn’t ask me to write a review in return for the kit I’ve decided to as I absolutely loved it!

Where Has The Time Gone?!

The last time I bothered with cross stitching of any sort was definitely before Amelia was born, and it’s a past time that’s been relegated in my mind to “things I don’t have time for anymore”. In fact, it’s been languishing there along with painting my toenails, getting a haircut, and finishing novels.

Turns out, though, that there is still time to do the things I enjoy. If I’m passionate enough about something then I find that I make the time, and this is exactly what happened when I started this kit. In fact, the same thing happened a couple of months ago when I started reading a novel and finished it the same week, which is something I haven’t done for a couple of years!

The kit came with everything I needed to stitch and display the pattern. The packaging is simple and stylish in a very modern way. Anyone who has received a present from me recently wrapped simply in brown paper and twine will know what I’m getting at!

Branching Out

I’ve been looking for a reason to branch out into doing a few vlogs here and there, and call me crazy, but I decided that this would be the ideal opportunity! Editing the video was cringe-worthy to say the least, and I scrapped the whole thing numerous times, but after much ado I decided to just get on with it!

My apologies in advance for the shoddy first video – I have learned tons just from creating it, and I promise the next one will be better! Also apologies to Ella + Kat for constantly referring to them as “Ella + Kat Stitch” call it word vomit……

  1. This is such a great idea. Love the patterns and so great that everything you need is included. I haven’t done anything like this since I was a kid but I remember finding it very relaxing and therapeutic. Thank you for sharing with #StayClassyMama

    1. Haha! I think I like cross stitch because it’s like sewing by numbers! And the patterns for Ella + Kat are so simple to follow too x

  2. I’ve never been a great fan of sewing. It always looks rubbish whenever I try. I can see that it is really relaxing though. I don’t think I have the patience. Pen x #RVHT

    1. Aww thank you! It was so cringey doing it! I hadn’t cross stitched for ages either, but these were a great re-introduction as they didn’t take too long and weren’t difficult to follow at all!xx

  7. Yes, no time for anything! I’ve been trying to get to books too, but I end up having to renew them 3 times at the library to get through only one. Glad you found some time! #dreamteam

    1. It had been a while for me too, convinced I didn’t have the time! These are just the right size to not feel like a huge project though. Xx

    1. I really didn’t think I’d find the time either, but I did a little bit over a couple of nights and before I knew it I was done!xx
