I’m Aleena, mum to two and shacked up with fiancé to one. Amelia (3) and William (1) are most of the inspiration for the blog, and fortunately for you there’s lots of me too! Just because we’re mama’s doesn’t mean we have to lose ourselves. I’m all about challenging the modern ideal of what it means to be the ‘perfect mum’. Firstly there isn’t such a thing, and secondly it’s really not necessary to do ALL THE STUFF that society would have us believe we need to. We can be pretty close to perfect without it all!

I started writing the blog mainly because I felt like I had something to say! I was eager for a creative outlet, and after a whole bunch of conversations with friends I wanted to help dispel this ‘perfect mummy’ image that so many mums aspire to, and haunts so many of us. Amelia and Wills are my absolute inspiration for everything that I do, but that is not to say that I haven’t done my fair share of hiding in the bathroom from them! No one is perfect, and nor should we have to be.

Aside from the obvious, I have done lots of other things over the years! I studied English Literature and graduated with a 2:1 while simultaneously working full time in pubs and ending up running one for a few years. After uni, I ran pubs until Amelia was 1, when it became clear that it just wasn’t a sustainable lifestyle anymore. Since then I have re-trained as an Early Years Educator whilst working at my kids’ nursery, and am now blogging full time.

I’m known for my love of pound shops, coffee and a good chat! You’ll probably find me hiding in my office with a coffee, in a coffee shop with a coffee, or online buying coffee! So feel free to contact me, leave some comments, and check me out on Twitter and Instagram. Or, y’know… you could… buy me a coffee?! Sure fire way to get my attention there.

You can generally find me here, blogging my little heart away, or over at Meet Other Mums and Happy New Mum where I blog regularly.

I love to hear from readers, so please feel free to contact me via the blog’s contact me page.

If you would like to work with me, you will find my media pack over on the blog’s contact me page too.
