In a previous post I talked about lessons that I have learned in the last 3 years about parenthood. Lesson #2 that I am about to talk about pretty much goes hand in hand with facilitating lesson #1.
There’s something about the immediate aftermath of illness that turns me into some kind of demi-God supermum type! Not the real kind of supermum that just comes completely naturally to some women, but the faux kind which sticks around for 2 or 3 days before slowly dissipating until you’re left with just a normal mum again.
It’s been nearly 3 years since I became a parent for the first time (whaaaaat?!) Along the way, like most, I have learned some valuable lessons. One of them involves sausages, obviously (see above image).
We are a pretty honest and open society now, and with the massive online community only growing, there’s a wealth of information, advice and tips out there if you want to find it. Don’t get me wrong, I love my children, and there are hundreds of times I think “why did people tell me this would be shit?!” but there are some real things that really will happen that you might just wish someone like me had warned you about.
