I’m Aleena, mum to two and
shacked up with fiancé to one. Amelia (3) and William (8 months) are most of the inspiration for the blog, along with a few little updates here and there from Mr C, supposed man of the house (seriously, which one of us owns the toolbox?! Hint; it ain’t him!) I also share much-loved family and weaning recipes, the majority of which are entirely Slimming World friendly.
I started writing the blog mainly because I felt like I had something to say! I was eager for a creative outlet, and after a whole bunch of conversations with friends I wanted to help dispel this ‘perfect mummy’ image that so many mums aspire to, and haunts so many of us. Amelia and Wills are my absolute inspiration for everything that I do, but that is not to say that I haven’t done my fair share of hiding in the bathroom from them! No one is perfect, as proven by the flash of bra in the above ‘perfect family’ pic!
Aside from the obvious, I have done lots of other things over the years! I studied English Literature and graduated with a 2:1 while simultaneously working full time in pubs and rising to the ranks of management. After uni, I went on to run my own pub and did that until Amelia was 1, when it became clear that it just wasn’t a sustainable lifestyle anymore. Since then I have re-trained as an Early Years Educator, and started this blog (as you can see!)
