Sensory Overload: Please Don’t Touch Me!

Sensory. The other day I almost had a total meltdown. I found myself telling to Amelia to "please just stop touching me!" Every time one of the kids used me as a leaning post, grabbed my hair, sat on me, climbed on me, wrapped their arms around my legs, caught me with a stray flailing arm I wanted to scream. Someone suggested that it was like sensory overload, and that's when I realised that's exactly what it is.

The Weightloss Edit: Weekly Motivation & Meal Plan #2

Welcome back to The Weightloss Edit. A few weeks ago, I made a deal with myself that I was going to get back to where I know I ma comfortable and healthy, which is going to involve dropping a few (lots) of pounds. I know that my tendency to be easily distracted is high when it comes to eating well. I hoped that by sharing my weekly meal plan and results I might stay more motivated and in turn maybe help to motivate others too.

Red Meat & The Weightloss Edit: Mama’s Beef & Leek “Not Quite” Pie

Red meat is an important part of our diet but it's had a lot of bad press recently. As far as I'm concerned, the saying 'Everything in moderation' applies here. Red meat is a great source of Iron and lost of other vitamins like zinc, potassium, B3, B6 and B12.

I’m a firm believer that a balanced diet means just that; a balance of all the food groups (even the naughty ones!) There are so many fad diets and confusing information that it’s easy to get mystified as to what we should and shouldn’t be feeding ourselves and our kids.
