Around about this time every year I kind of start thinking about what I might want to do on my birthday (June 16th just in case you fancy sending me on an all expenses paid trip to somewhere I can drink coffee and read books in *almost* solitude for a few days). The planning these days rarely lasts too long, though, as I soon realise that Father’s Day is just a day or two after. In fact, in 2019, Father’s Day will actually be on my birthday (I checked). FML.
So this year I thought I would put together a gift guide with a difference. Alongside the Father’s Day gifts will be an alternative for all the mums, who like me, are stuck sharing their birthday thunder with the dad of their kids! Basically what I mean is it’s a *hint hint* list for Mr C… 😛 And just for you guys, I’ve put together a little giveaway to include some of the fab products featured! Read on to be in with a chance of winning.
This Daddy Belongs To… Key Ring
This key ring from Handmade By Marie on Etsy is brilliant. Mr C is partial to a key ring here and there and I like the fact that it’s really well priced alongside being totally customisable. It’s a steal at £6 (+£1.50 shipping) and only 50p for every extra name tag you need! Bargain! And just because she’s amazing, Marie is offering one of you lucky people the chance to win of these pretty cool key rings. All you have to do is enter the giveaway which you will find at the bottom of this post.
Kin by John Lewis Keeper Belt
I really love this Navy & Yellow coloured keeper belt from John Lewis. Also as soon as I saw this I remembered that I told Mr C this morning that I hated his new belt, which in hindsight was probably a bit mean! I really like the modern colours of this belt, and I half expected it to be on the pricier end of the scale. In fact, it’s another steal at only £18 (+£3.50 shipping).
Personalised Daddy and Me Book
I think this Daddy and Me book by Letterfest at NotOnTheHighStreet is just perfect. Amelia rarely lets Mr C muscle in on our bedtime story, but I know that this would be a firm fave between them, and would become a bedtime tradition for all 3 of them as Wills gets older. As far as kids books go, this costs more than I would usually pay, but I do think that it would be something we would keep forever and revisit over and over. For that reason I think the £22 (+£2.75 shipping and £2 for every extra child’s name) price tag is perfectly acceptable.
Common Sense Blue Tailored Blazer
Ok, so this one is kind of for both of us! I’ve made no secret of the fact that I love a well-dressed man, and this
male model blazer from Slaters totally does it for me! All jokes aside (he’s not really my type anyway!) Mr C has been after a smart/casual blazer for quite a long time now and I think this would be perfect. It’s a bit of a jump from the other gifts, but at £75 I honestly think that it would be a timeless wardrobe investment.
The wonderful chaps at Slaters have offered you the chance to win a £100 gift voucher so that you can treat that special Dad in your life! All you need to do is enter the giveaway below; easy peasy!
Forget Him, It’s My Turn Now!
I’m about as far from materialistic as can be, and usually prefer being able to see the thought that has gone into something. I’m a bit of a closet hipster, and I think that’s probably going to be evident in my picks. Another thing that I think is going to be quite evident is that since Amelia was born I have lost fair whack of weight. This for me means 2 things; 1. I have very few clothes left that fit, and 2. I can now legitimately pull off outfits I have lusted after my whole life!
Polaroid Print Display
We’re moving (again) at the end of July, and I can’t stop thinking about the thousands of endless décor possibilities there are going to be! One thing that I have been drooling over for a rather long time is a cool Polaroid print display. I’d like one in our living room, and maybe also one in the kids room. I love this display that I found at Design, Dining, and Diapers by Taryn Whiteaker, as well as a whole bunch of other brilliant interior ideas on her blog!
A New Summer Outfit
It’s been a fair while since I have bothered buying any new threads, mainly because this time 10 months ago I was all full of tiny human, and since then I have been steadily losing weight (just over 2 stone now) and haven’t really seen the point until I reach my goal weight. Unfortunately this means that I have very little in the way of summer clothes for this year. Today I wore a pair of shorts out and had to do my belt up so tight that the whole waist of the shorts bunched up in a pretty unflattering fashion! Fash fail, people! I’d love to replace them with this dungaree shorts outfit.
Anyone who knows me, knows that I am totally addicted a good cup of coffee. This box of 6 flavoured coffees from Littles would literally make my day! I am in love with their brilliant selection of flavours, and a jar rarely lasts more than a week in this house! The best thing about this coffee (aside from the amazing flavours) is that they are super low calorie and syn-free on Slimming World, so I get to drink as much flavoured coffee as I like without it costing me that all important chocolate bar!
